Early orthodontics can reduce treatment time and overall costs

Early orthodontic treatment isn’t something that comes to mind for a lot of parents. After all, why would a young child require orthodontic care?

You might be surprised. The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that parents  schedule an appointment for their children by age 7 or after the molars have erupted. If no early treatment arises from that first appointment, Dr. Jones will ask to see your child in a year to observe their growth and development.

Thank you and happy holidays!

The Team at Roanoke Valley Orthodontics has been busy this year! We’ve traveled, trained, volunteered, welcomed new Team members, and most importantly, welcomed dozens of patients into the New Smiles Club!

We also celebrated some exciting achievements. Dr. Jones was named Top Doc by his peers in July, and the practice marked its 5th anniversary in September!

As we were thinking about what we wanted to write for December, we decided to use this post to thank the whole RVO community for a great 2019!

To our patients and their families: We know you have several options when it comes to choosing an orthodontist. Thank you for choosing RVO! Not only are you supporting our practice, but you’re helping to provide for the families of our Team. We take that very seriously and greatly appreciate it!

To the RVO Team: We couldn’t do what we do without you. We see your hard work and dedication to our patients every day. Please know that we appreciate your smiles, your commitment to our team and your desire to make our practice the very best we can be!

To the dentists who refer patients to us: Thank you for continuing to put your confidence in RVO by referring your patients to us and for working alongside us to create beautiful smiles. We work meticulously on each patient to try to produce their best smile and bite possible!

To our vendors and suppliers: Thanks for your commitment to our office orders and supplies so we can focus on our clinical work with patients.

Just as a reminder, our offices will be closed through Jan. 1 to allow our team a chance to relax and spend some memorable time with their families. We will have some Team members in the office on certain days to respond to voicemails and see any patients that may need to be seen to have a wire clipped or bracket removed.

We wish everyone a happy holiday season and an inspiring new year!

— Dr. David Jones and Justine Jones

Glossary of orthodontic terms

If you are a new patient, you might hear some terms that are unfamiliar or confusing. This glossary will help you understand some of the most common. If ever you have any questions about your treatment, just ask Dr. Jones and the team at Roanoke Valley Orthodontics.
