Making Life with Braces Better

We love using advanced technology to make your experience customized and comfortable.

  • Traditional Metal Braces: Forget what you’ve seen in old movies. Our high-grade stainless steel braces feature a dynamic design that is smaller, smoother, and much more comfortable.
  • Clear Braces: If you want the power of braces with a more subtle look, our ceramic braces are a game-changer. They offer great results with a translucent look.

If a wire pokes out or a bracket feels loose, you’ve got this. You can often use a clean pair of tweezers or even the back of a pencil eraser to gently push a wire back into place. Cover any bothersome spots with wax and give us a call so we can get you back on track.

Starting your journey to a brand-new smile is so exciting! While there are a few changes to get used to, we’re going to be right there with you every step of the way. Think of this as a fun new adventure: once you get the hang of it, you’ll be a pro in no time.

Your New Favorite Foods

For the first few days, your teeth might feel a little sensitive, so it’s the perfect time to treat yourself to some soft, delicious foods. We’re talking about creamy smoothies, fluffy scrambled eggs, warm soup, and even pasta. It’s a great excuse to get creative with your snacks while your smile is hard at work!

Strategic Snacking

To keep your treatment moving fast and your braces safe, we’ll want to avoid anything that could pop a bracket or bend a wire. Don’t worry, it’s only temporary.

  • Sticky Stuff: Skip the caramel and taffy for now.
  • The Big Crunch: Avoid chewing on ice or hard chips.
  • Tough Treats: Instead of biting into a whole apple or corn on the cob, slice them up. You can still enjoy your favorites with a little extra intention.

Feeling at Ease

It’s totally normal to feel some general soreness for the first few days. It just means your teeth are starting to move into their new positions! To feel better fast, try a warm salt water rinse or an over-the-counter pain reliever.

Pro tip: If anything feels like it’s rubbing, just use a little bit of our dental wax to smooth things over.

What’s Up With Loose Teeth

Don’t be surprised if your teeth feel a little "wiggly," that’s actually the braces at work. For your teeth to find their new position, they have to move. They’ll settle in and feel stable again soon.

The staff is extremely nice and they do an excellent job in Orthodontics! I had two children in braces at the same time and I Couldn’t be happier. Roanoke Valley Orthodontics goes above and beyond every time! Thank you for everything!

Very informative, and quick with getting my son in for his eval. They even put his braces on right then and there! Payment plans are very flexible, with zero interest for up to 36 months.

Wonderful experience! Everyone from the doctor, the techs and the associates are very friendly and helpful. My daughter, who was only 9, was very nervous about having to get braces, but everyone there made her feel very comfortable and explained every step to her prior to doing anything. She now has beautiful straight teeth. I would highly recommend this team to any and everyone. They are an amazing group and you won't be dissatisfied!!!
